not my favorite book by Eco, i believe you have to be very italian to fully grasp the feeling he emits with his quotes on 40's and 50's memorabilia

While not Ecos' most absorbing work, "Flame" is a fascinating look into the way what we read slowly becomes who we are. It can be admittedly tedious at times, but if you're willing to forge through, not expecting the elaborate twists and turns of, say "The Name of the Rose" of "Foucalt's Pendulum", it won't disappoint.
