I'll be part of the minority that do not give this book a four or five star rating. It started off brilliantly and besides some of the eyebrow-raising scenes I thoroughly was enjoying it and the insight it gave on a quiet village during the war and how it effected children especially. 

And then I got to the second book and thought the author had drifted from the enitial plot and story.
And then I got to the third book and realised the author was probably as lost as I was. 

I apologise Ms Kristof. You are an excellent writer but this will not be going on my favourites list.
