*Update* I enjoyed this book more this time than the time described below. The suspense felt believable and I noticed it threaded through out the book. I still think that this books rates 3 stars rather than 4 (or actually a 3.5 if goodread would ever get around to letting us give half star ratings). This book survives round two of the purge from my personal collection. It also marks the last book reread in round two.

This book had a decidedly different feel to it than the others. I enjoyed it, but not quite as much. 

Much of the tension that drove the plots of the other books in the series was missing from this one. Henderson's random scenes from the perspective of the perpetrator seemed to serve only one purpose, reminding the readers that there was a suspenseful subplot to the story. Since she hadn't included scenes like this in the other ones, this inclusion felt a bit out of character.

I did like the slower pace. If Henderson had dropped the suspense bit, I probably would have given this book 4 stars instead of 3. The suspense did not fit the tone of the book.

That being said, this book is a decent, light, easy read for those who enjoy Christian fiction with good theology and a bit of suspense. I will continue to recommend the book and the series to anyone who fits in the above category. (If you don't, then this book and all of Henderson's books actually, would not be your particular cup of tea.)
