I suppose I can understand his strict and linear approach to medical science, but I believe the journal of laws needs to be held lightly so that one may easily read from it when needed, but may also let go and be freed from its weight in an instant.

This book was ok. I would have rather it was just a novel than this awkward narration that sounded like a History Channel documentary. I thought it was kind of disjointed and I wanted more of a spooky plot line

I didn't really care for the story itself, I mostly bought and read this book for its illustrations. So that being said, it was pretty much an average book.

The story was interesting in the way Dr. Black developed in life. Besides that, I didn't really care. 

The codex is the main atraction for sure. I will keep this book more as decoration than as an actual book in my collection.
