Overall, I really enjoyed The Road Less Traveled and thought it clearly articulated some key insights about why people struggle to live a joyful life (and the work/discipline required in order to grow spiritually / be fulfilled) and offered really compelling definitions of love and grace. He also concludes with an interesting interpretation of our 'ultimate aim' (to become more like God; to embody God by further spreading love/pushing humanity to grow) which I felt was very widely applicable -- that is, it is an ultimate aim that I think people of many different faiths could agree to or act upon in some sense. 

Peck's writing is easy to read and filled with interesting cases of psychotherapy which are effectively weaved in throughout to demonstrate his ideas. My only qualm is that in the middle of the Love section, he uses a metaphor about controlling one's feelings as 'the art of slave-owning' which?? was a puzzling and problematic choice that tainted my opinion of an otherwise extremely interesting book.

Lovely lovely book. I've learned so much from Dr Peck about love, discipline and spiritual growth that i will be applying.

The road is indeed less travelled because of how daunting it is and how much it'd require of us, yet I'm committed to that Journey.

One of the best books I've read this year

Thought provoking non fiction which is my favorite kinda book. Absolute favorite. The material was very hard for me to read and understand because it was written back in 1965?, and English is not my tongue language, but I pushed myself because it was too interesting for me. It's an eye-opener, will give you a lot of "oh, wow!" moments as you read through, which is what reading is all about. Highly highly recommended, no amount of good reviews is gonna give it justice.
