someone needs to give this man a bottle of wine, the amount of times i read a poem following some sort of alcohol, particularly wine

i enjoyed reading atticus, some of his poems speaks to me in some fort, yet at the end, it's not like they struck me over a long time nor are they memorable to the point that reading his books are of the same content, but in different shapes

It's hard to review a collection of mostly blank pages, sprinkled with brief sentences. Sure, there are some poems that do nothing for you, some that seem meh and some that bring a flood of emotion. Some feel general enough to bring you in and others feel like a small snippet into the poet's life. One fact that is clear is the bigger picture: it is obvious what Atticus is trying to do and they achieve it. Magnificently. All of the feels; either in the 20 minutes you devour the collection or in each random 10 second moment when you pick it up because you need it.

Well... it’s a pretty book. But I’m not sure if that’s a compliment. This collection of poetry is little thought provoking. The poems, in my humble opinion, are simple, borderline monotonous and lack a certain depth. I wonder if Atticus has ever heard of diversity and inclusion. I usually enjoy a certain theme to (sections of) a poetry collection. But I don’t like feeling like it’s the same message over and over. I imagine this could be a fun gift for someone who’s in need of an introduction to contemporary Instagram-poetry, which, to me, seems like an entire genre these days.

This book of poetry was fine but nothing to write home about. I did think it was descriptive but not unique. There are definitely other poets who I enjoy more and would seek out before Atticus.

I overall enjoyed majority of it, I wouldn’t read a single of his works again but they’re nice to read for the first time, it’s atmosphere is very nice. I do not mind it being all about love, though some aspects of it were rather repetitive.
