I had heard about this book as the pioneer of Martian invasion fiction, so when I picked it up I expected it to be more interesting as a comparative story, however I really enjoyed it! It maintained the deep past-tense first-person, which in many older books makes me cringe, but I actually didn’t mind it here. I’m very happy that I nabbed this from the thrift.
