A follow up to the Water Keeper in much the same vein. More backstory about Bishop, Marie, and Bones. More abductions of children and young girls for trafficking and revenge. More about Freedom (the town). And another great can’t-stop-listening ending. 

One section sounded like a complete lift from book 1, describing the chairlift, mountaintop lodge, and naming of Freedom. I actually checked to make sure I didn’t mistakenly switch back to the first book! Other than that bit of laziness (easy for me to say), it’s a thrilling (yet improbable, just go with it) book about a man willing to sacrifice everything for others.
