Very good book. Halfway through I was considering going through all my ratings and taking some of them down so 5ing this would be a bigger deal. However, the ending is rough. Mann died before he finished it, and you can tell, and it seems totally possible he had planned to do a "Joseph and His Brothers" on the whole classic Greek pantheon over the course of Felix's life-story.
