I have been reading a lot of short stories lately and some are surprisingly very entertaining despite the brevity of the stories (and I’ve heard somewhere that it’s far more difficult to write a short, concise story than a long winding one).

This book is like a comfortable blanket, the stories are heartwarming and easy to follow but that’s about the extent of the charm. I do love the story that shared the name with the book. Five Tuesdays in a winter is such a sweet story about how challenging it is for adults to fall in love again.

Overall - 3 stars. Perfect for bedside reading or at the beach

Let me start by saying I appreciate the time spent by any author on a book & never want to come off as mean or rude but I'm a hater at heart so here is my review:

If I wanted to be generous I might consider giving this short story collection 2.5 stars but I cannot say I am in a generous mood at the moment. This was my first and most likely last novel/short story that I will read by King. I found her writing style to be childish and every character to be one-dimensional. Her short stories had not a single point to them, and they were ridiculously boring. I think the only short story I sort of enjoyed was 'Hotel Seattle'.

3.5 ⭐️ Some of the stories in this book were fantastic; they got me to care about the characters within the short span we have with them, made me curious for what’s to come and left me satisfied (enough) with the endings. However there were some  that shocked me and moments where I felt uncomfortable (however this may have been the purpose). The last story is where they lost me. Though this handles a lot of heavy topics and was better than any other short story collections I’ve read, I wasn’t blown away (thus the round down to 3 stars). Upside: the audiobook performance was fantastic with a different narrator for every story. My favourite was a tie between the title story: “Five Tuesdays in Winter”, “When in the Dordogne” and “Waiting for Charlie”.

This was a short story collection made up of people of varied ages. They range from a teenage boy to an octogenarian. The situations are very interesting as well I loved this collection and highly recommend it.

This is a collection of short stories. The first two stories were good. After that it kind of became bleh. The writing is sort of bland, very exaggerated and there's just not enough to keep you turning pages. After the 4th story, it was almost like scrolling through blank pages.
