I look around for someone I know, and I find a boy who sometimes goes to our soccer field to practice with us. I give him money to buy all the bracelets she has on the table. I stand and watch from a distance as Raquel’s expression changes from pure sadness to disbelief to happiness and excitement. She thanks the guy a bunch of times and passes him a bag with the bracelets.

Predictable, déjà vue on thousand of different fronts, basic writing style…

I know this is a Wattpad story, but the writing felt very young and Wattpad ish. There was nothing special about it. 

But don’t get me wrong I did enjoy the story. It was hot and cute at the same time just because we can really feel the love between the two characters. And the sex scenes are sexy. I do think there was some sort of shame around sex tho. Just because of the way Raquel was always so shy when it came to that subject, as if it was something that should not be talked about and also because of her mom’s reaction when she found out that her daughter was having sex. 

I did not like Yoshi in the book, but I did like him in the movies. Also the book and the movie seems like two different stories. 

I’ve read many books with the bad boy/ good girl trope and honestly the only real good one I read was the Magnolia Parks series, other than that I’m getting really tired of this same narrative. But that’s just my personal opinion.

I did like the summer vibes in the story, it makes me want to enjoy the last weeks of summer vacation with my friends. 

I think also I might be too old for high school romance books, or maybe I just didn’t live this one and that’s why I’m feeling this way right now. The thing is that I loved the first movie, which is why I bought the book in the first place. I don’t know what’s wrong with me, I was just so underwhelmed while reading the book. 

I did love the characters, except for Yoshi, he did deserve to be happy tho, the thing that happened to him made me so sad and also made me relate to him. Which is a sad thing to say, but that’s how life is sometimes. 

I will not be reading the rest of the series but will of course what the movies, and I’m grateful for this book to make me nostalgic about the After series. Which was one of the series that turned me into a reader a few years ago. ❤️

personally i watched the movie on netflix before i read the book. i really liked the movie since i watched it at least 3 times and when i learned that it was based on a book i had to read it. i enjoyed reading it and never found it hard to. i didn’t need breaks from it is what i mean. i fell in love with the characters and i wish it was longer or that there was a second book.

the book is better than the movie for sure even tho julio peña is gorgeous.

So good! Very wattpad like. I loved it. The only thing stopping it from being 5 stars is some things were unrealistic

This was such a good romance book! Completely different from the movie, and once again, I can say I prefer the book. I do think some of the plot points were dragged on a bit and the writing style in the beginning wasn’t my favorite which is why I gave this 3 stars. I can also tell you that I cried at the ending. I felt so entwined in Ares and Raquels relationship and I loved every moment with these two.

           I must say that I loved this book with all my heart. I love the roller coaster relationship Raquel and Ares had. I hurt so much when i learned that was something between Apolo and Claudia because I honestly believe that Apolo had more chemistry with Dani. I am going to read the second book asap. That's all !!

I only read this book because of the Netflix movie and am glad I saw the movie first because for once THE BOOK IS SOOO MUCH BETTER. The movie left out so much of Ares' point of view, it left out the wonderful chemistry and building of their relationship and the family dynamic and trauma in Ares' story made so much more sense in the book. It very much was a Wattpad book but in a good way

Obviously!

I liked it. But i thin i would have love it if i was 13 or 15. There's a great bunch of red flags but also is a very addictive book

I felt the ending a little bit rush but i also understand that maybe wattpad stories ended that way cause the format

Overall, you should read it if you want some fun
