So, I jumped RIGHT into this book after finishing the first one, so I didn't need to adjust to the writing style like I did with the first one. 

But... you know, I think the first book was better. Maybe. I Don't really know.

I really liked the way Mel and Zen's relationship evolved in this book. But Harmony and Jondoe... not so much. Jondoe is just SO IMMATURE! I honest to god think he has become MORE immature than he was in book one. It just... ugh. Really?

But the ending. I liked the ending. That was a good call.

The story starts off at 35 weeks since Melody and Harmony went their separate ways: Harmony left with Ram to continue her life in Goodside and Melody was left on the Otherside to deal with the frenzy of media attention surrounding her 'couture conception'.

Thumped picks up 35 weeks after Bumped. For me this was such a great sequel to Bumped although I didn't love it as much. The huge time gap posed so many different unanswered questions that made me read on. A lot of the time I was second guessing what was going to happen at each turn. 

This book also highlights pressing problems that are becoming more and more present in our society. With all the expectations placed on these teenagers to provide their babies for money and to be with someone they don't truly love because they don't meet others specifications. 

Really, in the end, I was happily surprised at the outcome. All I want is for Megan McCafferty to write a third in the series.

This book (and it's predecessor) are weird as hell, but so entertaining and easy to read. The world in these books is quite terrifying - teen pregnancy has become an industry and is seen as morally right by the majority of people. That is not okay. Melody & Harmony are easy to tell apart while reading, since they are so fundamentally different. The writing isn't spectacular, but the humour and the weird pregnancy-related slang is right up my alley.
The ending satisfied me.
