Lover of Romance 

I was all about Tyler's book, especially in what we see from him in book one, there was such an aura of mystery surrounding him and I just had to have his story and I am not sure what it took me so long to read this one, but this one was simply beautiful and I loved everything about this sweet romance, I knew that this one would be emotional and touching and it was everything I could have expected and more. There is something so charming about this pair who met in the most unexpected and surprising of circumstances. And they are complete opposites from each other, but they have this intense connection that begins with a sweet friendship into something very deeper very quickly. They truly get each other in a world that views that as outsiders and practically treats them as lepers and they find true acceptance in each other and seeing them go on their journey was such a captivating road to join them on. The hero is protective and caring and shrouds himself with this bad boy image. Then we have our heroine who is overcoming trauma and abuse and sees the world in the eyes of a child and sees magic in the small things. She has a sense of sweet innocence but also has this strength in forging her own path. The romance was everything I could have expected and more! I just wanted more for these two and I never wanted their story to end! Definitely going to make it to my top reads of the year!

This was such a surprisingly beautiful and unique story. A slow burn but I didn’t even mind with how strong the relationship and intimacy building felt.

I think this could’ve been a true standalone as it’s very different (including the writing style) than the first in the series so they don’t even really tie together. Any references to Torn tended to pull me out of the story so I think Tied would’ve been stronger as it’s own world. Regardless definitely don’t need to have read book 1 to enjoy this one and it’s well worth the read.

When I picked this up, I expected some good smut and poor character development, however "don't judge a book by its cover" really is something I need to repeat again and again. The relationship I've watched develop and the trauma I've watched these characters somewhat overcome in this book is something that I never expected. It truly is something to pick up if you feel like reading a slow burn with a dash of mentally messed up characters who are aware of what their lives and minds are like. 3.5/5 because I really enjoyed it, although the writing could've been a bit better.

           Oh my goodness. And I thought Torn was amazing. Tied made such a deeper connection, its a heartbreaking story about two people who have suffered way more than anyone should, and yet their lives are so tied together. Trauma, endless amounts of guilt and regret, the worst circumstances possible, but the best timing. This was a story about saving each other. And how compared to fairytales, reality can be cruel, but if you believe than your fairytale can become your reality. I made it through so much of this story without crying. But when Tyler made the ring out of the coins from the jar I lost it. And I basically sobbed the rest of the story. A perfectly tragic story.

And another scarred and mostly mute hero. This one was so much more wholesome than I expected as I know that the author is known for her more taboo pairings. There was not even any on page penetrative sex (there is some oral though) which really surprised me but given the FMC's backstory it made sense contextually. 

And a dog. And a pet fox! (which is timely as I saw another one nosing at my back door the other day which is twice in the last month or so). Happy, but bittersweet, sigh - I'm getting pets galore in my books at the moment.

“We know, and we want you to come home soon, but your father and I think it’s best that we take it slow.” My mother hesitates and shakes her head slightly. “We both have extremely busy jobs, we can’t be home during the day to be with you. Zac has his own condo with his girlfriend, and Lizzie has piano practice and gymnastics.” She rubs her hand across her forehead. “We just have to figure it all out. But it’s not far from where we live at all. Just across town, actually. We’ll visit you, I promise.”
