Sui Ishida, qui signe là sa première œuvre, instille le malaise par une description minutieuse des nouvelles sensations qui assaillent le héros et les transcendent par des scènes d'action explosives et magnifiques. Prenant à contre-pied les récentes productions sur les zombies, Tokyo Ghoul nous présente une vision inversée du combat de l'humanité contre ses prédateurs.

This is the first Manga that I've read and I'm so glad because I completely loved it. I especially admired the artwork, at some pages I literally stopped to stare at the page because I am a person who appreciates art, especially in graphic novels.

I thought the story was really interesting, College Student Ken Kaneki goes on a date with a girl he has a crush on, only to end up in the hospital, finding himself half human and half… ghoul. He's a half-ghoul hybrid, technically, and that's pretty fucking cool. (but then gross…) There were a few surprising moments, which was also a reason I enjoyed it so much.

Something I also thought was interesting, was how Kaneki felt alone, and how he was a book nerd, and didn't care either. He used some of his knowledge of some books he read to help his… urmm… situations.

I admire Nagachika's loyalty and observations throughout the book, he really does seem like a good friend, worried when Kenaki was acting weird, and encouraged him to eat when he looked weak and literally wasn't eating anything for days.

I'm already looking forward to the next volumes of Tokyo Ghoul, and am excited to know more about Touka and more about the Ghouls, and how Kenaki will take it, especially how Nagachika will react.

Overall, I would say this is a successful start to my Manga collection.

I liked the idea of the story but I didn't really like the art style or how the story was executed. I feel like it was repeated over and over again without any explanation or anything to grasp me to the story.

This was actually really good!!!!! I bought this a long time ago and I had tried reading it previously (twice) and I guess I just wasn’t in the mood for it. I’m ready for vol. 2 now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pretty good story and I'm not a horror genre fan. But decided to give this a try for October. Really interesting on the perspective for ghouls. The main character is ok...I hope to see some character growth later in the series.
