looking back, i think this was my least favourite of the series, but it was a highly enjoyable read regardless! detective society forever

Another deadly trip to the British girls' school, Deapdean, for Daisy Wells and Hazel Wong and friends that have joined them in the Wells and Wong Detective Society. It is parents' weekend, and while prepping in their dorm detective society member Bertie looks out the window and sees a murder. At least, she sees a man strangling a woman by the woods and then they disappear. This is enough to rally Daisy, who has been moping since returning to Deepdean after an eventful summer solving another crime, and sets the group of friends off on a new mystery where Deepdean parents are the suspects at the school's anniversary weekend.

Last book in the series is next, it will be bittersweet to say goodbye to Hazel and Daisy after so many excellent reading adventures. The Murder Most Unladylike series is highly recommended for readers ages 10+.

Even after a reread, I can't decide whether to give this 4 or 5 stars. The twist is ingenious though. 

Also Beanie continues to be a precious cinnamon roll, even though she is now a tall bean rather than a smol bean. 

Only one more full-length story in this series! Sadtimes.
