This book is the warm hug we all need! Trent Dalton spent two months sitting on a street corner in Brisbane asking people for their love stories. The result is a beautiful book full of bite-sized stories; some are sweet, some are sad but all are lovely.

It's not often that I venture into non-fiction but every time I do it seems to be for a journalist... their ability to tell people's stories is second to none.

I adored this book. It made me laugh, it made me cry. It reminded me of how I have come to love this city and all of these stories have come from those who call Brisbane home. The way the stories were written, so beautifully crafted to capture the love between so many different people and the types of love we experience in our lifetime. I wish I could go back and read it for the first time again.

There is nothing I can say that will adequately express how I feel about this book except that I started crying on page 2 and didn't stop for the next 300. This book turned up exactly when I needed it. Easiest 5 stars I've ever given.

I absolutely admire Trent for doing something that your average person wouldn't think about trying to achieve. His confidence and willingness to listen to complete strangers telling stories about their lives, delving into the heart-break, the darkness and the challenges that someone can experience stirs my heart. Especially after the pandemic, Trent has shown that even after all the bad things, there is good and there are always people willing to help and listen.
