This book is a decent anecdotal introduction to the topic of God's sovereignty. Knowing a little about the author's own hardships caused me to read the book more deeply, so I'd recommend reading up on Mr. Bridges beforehand. I'd recommend "Trusting God", but it can be a bit laborious and unnecessarily repetitive in places.

I wish this book didn't have the subtitle "Even When Life Hurts", as it seems to imply it is a self-help book for the currently suffering. In my opinion, this book could (and probably should) be read in preparation for the storms of life, not during them.
