So this was the YA I was expecting in the series. I will say the one thing I’m not a fan of is how abruptly these book end. I always think it have a better, completed ending but I haven’t gotten that yet. May be why there is an epilogue book at the end of this series. I will say the third pov felt very unnecessary to me because it wasn’t a love triangle even when it tried to set it up as one but didn’t even attempt to push for it by the 40% mark. The characters were fine, I think they were better individually than they were together because there actually wasn’t much of them actually being a couple.

The feels for this book are everywhere. Man Gunner, Brady, Willa... Jesus. I would love to know more about Riley though. She showed up in Until Friday Night and now Under The Lights. What is with Riley? Anyway a must read if you love Football. Not just Football but sacrifice and love. These two books are so much more than Football stars. SO MUCH MORE!

This book was a quick fluffy read and easy to get through, even though this book is apart of a series, they are more companion novels and do not need to be read in order.
It was obvious on which guy Willa ends up with, and I like who she ends up with.
At some point the author tried to make a love square which I though was unnecessary and didn't work with the story.
Gunner's family was extreme as hell, and in my opinion was a bit over the top.

I enjoyed this book and want to read the other books in this series.

Who else is excited about Under The Lights as I am? Abbi Glines has release another fantastic book in the Field Party series, Under The Lights.
Under The Lights is the second book in the Field Party series. It will start off where the first one ended but it will tell another journey of two love one falling in love with each other again. Willa has returns back to her hometown after she experience something tragedy. But while she returned, she gets to reunited with two former best friends, Brady and Gunner. And boy, did they change so much, just as she did too.
Willa has change so much when she was younger. She still a beauty but she is also face something tragedy that it makes her caution. But things start changing when she reunited with her former best friends, Brady and Gunner (especially him). She will finally get to heal since she will have the support of Gunner.
Brady is the star of his hometown since he is the quarterback and hot boy too! He knows he can get any women in his town but he is definitely out of his game when it comes to Willa. Willa is definitely out of his lead that he has no chance whatsoever. But Gunner definitely has potential.
Gunner is the number one boy to have in the town. His family owns the town. But there is more to him than his family reputation. He is facing some home trouble that no one will know about except Willa. Willa has always been there for him that he grows more and more closer to him.
Willa is a catch that anyone will be lucky to have. Gunner or Brady will need to work hard if they want her.
Under The Lights is a fantastic teen romance story that it will captivated from the beginning. There is teen drama and also teen tragedy that will keep your interest. Four Stars.

I zoomed through this book like crazy. I read it so quickly. When I say I couldn't put it down, I really mean it, I was out of control. I enjoyed the first book but this one was way better in my opinion. I just loved it! And I kinda get the Abbi Glines hype now. I am super excited for the third instalment coming out this month.

I think she was just adding things to the story to make it interesting although I guess it kinda adds to gunners mother story so I can kinda see why but it’s also confusing and it doesn’t really matter.

I don't know.. I just couldn't.

At one point she made a reference to suicide as "the easy way out" and I just can't. Not to mention it was really misogynistic at times. I can handle that in certain situations, but this was not one of those. I was literally cringing listening to the audiobook."

From all of her books this one is my favorite, and that's a lot to say considering I hate most of her other books. this one was sweet and balanced, and the female character for the first time isn't so shallow minded for a teenager girl, and there is no sex scenes.

It's been ages since I read an Abbi Glines book, but with the release of the third book in The Field Party series looming, I decided it was time to get caught up on the series. What ensued was a day and a half, two book binge a couple weekends ago. I regret nothing... except how long it took me to read Under the Lights. 

I really enjoyed Under the Lights. More, maybe, than I thought I even would. (And I pretty much loved Until Friday Night, so I'm not really sure why exactly it took me so long to read this book.) Regardless, I'm glad I finally got back around to it. I was admittedly a little apprehensive going in because the blurb clearly describes a love triangle. While that's's not a total no-fly for me, it's not always something I enjoy. Just to be clear, there was a love triangle here but it wasn't that bad. It was pretty obvious who Willa really belonged with. Of course, I also read the blurb for the third book, After the Game, before starting this one so that might've had something to do with it, too. Regardless, I wasn't particularly bothered in this instance.

I really liked Willa and Gunnar. (Ok and Brady, too. More or less.) It was great to see Willa getting a second chance back in her hometown, especially after the situation she dealt with before leaving Arkansas. It was ugly and sad and definitely affected her. Understandably. She was still dealing with the consequences and felt a ton of guilt. Getting back to her roots, back to the friends she knew back when, helped some. As much as anything could, I suppose. Willa grew so much over the course of this book. Don't dismiss the guys, either. Especially Gunnar. His life really is a shit show, thanks to his family. He's definitely not the spoiled rich boy everyone seems to think he is. My heart honestly broke for both him and Willa. 

Under the Lights was a great read. I did find it a little slow in the beginning and I struggled a little with why it was necessary to have three different points of view. Don't get me wrong, it's not that I disliked Brady, even if he was relatively selfish and immature at times. I was just far more interested in what was happening between Willa and Gunnar. That's where the heart of the story was for me. The last 30% or so is where the real goodness was though, IMHO. That's where the bulk of the feels came in. All in all though, I breezed through this book and barely paused before picking up the next one in the series. It was a great binge.

Wish this was only from two povs, but still a great companion novel to the first one. Not my favorite because there was so much less character arcs. We see the break down and then it’s like nothing ever happened.
