Was a good read, very interesting writing style very descriptive. Many plot twists which I thoroughly enjoyed. My only real complaint that the ending was a bit of a cliff hanger with no sequel 🤔

The story was nice, but I wasn’t a fan. The writing was kinda weak, and there was so much unnecessary dialogue. Way too dramatic, and the plot was confusing. So much hinting at her mysterious history that it got annoying.

The first reason I loved this book is because of the twisted tale born from the wonders of Neverland. So much of Neverland has been crafted into something so much more that I was constantly surprised with how much details were put into everything - the secrets, the twists. 

The second, is because of how it goes against all possible cliches. When you think one thing will happen, I assure you another thing completely will take its place, leaving you guessing and turning the pages, faster and faster as you get halfway through. 

The third, is because in a dark and unforgiving land already so engaging in itself, lessons are woven into the story that were unfolded towards the end that made this book so, so meaningful and beautiful. 

So if you're looking for fantasy and adventure, a read that'll keep you on your feet guessing, and a story of what makes us human, than look no farther than here.

Life is not a fairytale, not even in Neverland, and there is no absolute good or bad, only shades of human gray. 
Honestly I'm not a big big fan of Peter Pan. (I love the movie though). But what I really love is Hook from Once Upon A Time and Captain Rowan reminds me so much of him in some ways. So it's a book I suggest to my fellow Killian Jones and Captain Swan fans. 
This book was very well written. The characters were all very shady and up until the end you still don't know who to trust and who is lying. It's enchanting and the ending bittersweet. Tragic even, one might say. I gave it three stars, but it was more of a 3.5 for me. It would have been a brilliant four if the ending wouldn't have left me so sad.

I found unhooked quite enjoyable. I like this take on Rowan/hook and pan/whatever his name is. But at times I found Gwens inner monologue quite confusing. There was many times where in the middle of an intense fight/ action scene she would stop and start describing things in great detail for example the ways the stars look in the night sky. The descriptions of said scenes are exquisite you can vividly envision the scene being described, but the timing could have been better.

Early on we bounced around over the theory’s of who the villain really is. Is it the captain (hook)? Is it pan? Is it the shadows? To then discover that the big villain is really the Queen, who a large chunk of the story is reserved for tracking her down and releasing her. To then have her defeated in ruffly 3 chapters. Part of me is happy that she didn’t have a bigger story plot, but I also feel as if there should have been more to her story; or her involvement in the story. 
 
Even with that said I still enjoyed Gwens adventures in Neverland. And I desperately wish there was a sequel where we could further explore the relationship between Gwen and Rowan.

Really 3 1/2 stars! I really liked this retelling of Peter Pan! The only complaint I have is that it was too short so everything felt a bit rushed.
