Amazing and relatable. I love the writing but it is more conversational and less literary. I adore Lysa Terkeurst and her teachings have moved mountains for me. Thank you, Lysa for your shining light.

I gave this 5 stars not for the writing/literary accomplishment, but for the inner work that is done with this book. I felt lifted and light after this book and I will most likely read it again for all the nuggets of reassurance and notes on how to live loved ❤️

Lysa TerKeurst is really good at some things and not so good at other things. There were areas of Uninvited that pulled on my heartstrings and spoke to me, opening my eyes to my own faults and how I can improve. But the majority of Uninvited is humble bragging about her achievements, petty remarks about individuals she's known, and a really weird obsession with thigh gaps, cellulite, and frizzy hair--which, to me, all manifests itself as insecurity and shame in a book about overcoming all of that.

The main thing that's bothersome about this book is that it's all over the place. The subtitle of Uninvited is "Living Loved When You Feel Less Than, Left Out, and Lonely." TerKeurst did cover most of that, but it wasn't done in a coherent way that felt fulfilling. Some of it was covered here--some there--some places she went on a random tangent that while honest, wasn't at all related to the book she was writing.

Overall, Uninvited wasn't a bad book--but it could've definitely used some tweaking to make it more relevant to the topic proposed. That, or the title should've been changed?
