A House of Night Novel

These books really aren’t half bad, might even give this one a 3.5! The story is interesting at the minute and I’m kinda a fan, it’s pretty creative.

My only proper gripe is the repetitiveness of the writing. It’s always “_____ said” over and over! Think I’m noticing it more bc I’m borrowing the audiobooks from my library but it’s a bit annoying. Also the fact every book has to explain basic things you know if you read the other ones...other than that I’ll probably keep reading this series

Ok so im this book Zoey and her friends are together again. Aphrodite faked her tattoo so that she can return to the HoN. Aphrodite and Zoey's bond is getting stronger and Aphrodite and Zoey talked with Nix, discovering that Neferet isn't listening to Nix anymore; Nix isn't angry to Aphrodite and she is somewhat between a human and a fledgling. ok so Zoey met a new guy, Stark, who was later died because of the rejection of the change.Later Aphrodite had seen a poem/prophecy in her visions and Zoey's grandmother interpreted the poem, telling them about the legend of how the wise women created a girl and defeated Kalona, a Tsi Sgili or a demon. Zoey's grandmother suffered from a car crash; she was in the ICU until the end of the book. Zoey performed a ritual circle, with Erik reciting a poem. The existence of red fledgelings is revealed to the HoN when Stevie Rae came out from a tree to take part to the circle. so theeeen Neferet resurrected Kalona by having Star, now an Undead, shot an arrow to Stevie Rae's blood, causing her blood to flow to the ground; thus, fulfilling the prophecy. Zoey and her friends(including Erik) fled from the HoN to hide from Kalona. The HoN is under a siege.And Zoey got a new tattoo on her palms. :D

Taking place pretty much immediately after the climactic event in the third book, book 4 let's us see exactly how the fall out with Zoey has turned in to. From her friends disliking and not trusting her, to her becoming closer with someone once thought to be an enemy.
More sadness follows Zoey and you really start to feel for the girl. She constantly has people around her passing away, but as we have discovered thus far in the series, that might not be a permanent thing. She is reminded that being in a position of power affects not only her, but those around her and that certainly comes in to play in this book. A really great action sequence tiws this book up in a good way but also sort of ends on a cliff hanger leaving the reader eager to start the next book.

I really love this serie of book because it's very original, we have another view of vampire a new culture but it's also cheesy sometimes. Zoey had all the power, if Shaunee talks Erin too. But it was a really good read and i'm excited to discover the next book and what will hapened after this !

Good news! I actually really, really adored this book. I know that my House of Night reread has been a bit of a miss in terms of star ratings, but Untamed totally just saved the entire series and experience to me. I can see why I was so wild about this particular installment. Untamed, and Chosen, were a definite improvement in the series. Once more, I couldn't put the book down because it's just so dang indulgent and addictive and fun.

From a step back re: slut shaming in the narration, to more world-building, friendship highs and lows, and a lot more tension, Untamed was the best yet. There were still a few moments where I cringed, and quite a few typos/errors, but it was still the series' strongest point. I'd forgotten how sad Stark's origins were, both in terms of his backstory and the beginning of his significance to House of Night, and how things went down when it came to Neferet's resurrection of Kalona.

Not to mention the Raven Mockers. No, seriously, I forgot all about them. Don't ask me how I forgot such a massive part of the mythology of the series. I'm not sure. But, I did, and I feel incredibly silly having done so. I have this theory that I was trying to block them out of my memory, knowing that they had hurt Zoey's Grandma. Although her injuries were not permanent, it still was like, "HEY! Weird mythological beings! LEAVE GRANDMA REDBIRD ALONE."

Who doesn't love Zoey's Grandma?
