this is such a step-up from Wicked Fox! The romance, the narrative style, the characters especially I felt really improved, and I loved them all so much! Junu and Somin really shone in this book and I loved them! I do feel like Changwan was a very left out, but overall I really enjoyed this! Kat Cho really has a way of making her characters have chemistry too. Anyways, I liked Wicked Fox but I feel like Vicious Spirits took Wicked Fox and made everything better, I highly recommend

i thought it was ok. i liked junu a lot as a protagonist but somin not so much (just not my type of heroine). good if you are looking for a light read.

I LOVED THIS!!! Oh it was so good, I admit I enjoyed it more than the first one I don’t know how but I did!! Oh Junu and Somin the classic enemies to lovers my favourite !!!! The plot in this was so good and the continuation was written so well and the writing was just fabulous !!! Also the character development in this chef’s kiss!!!!! Also the fact that one of my fave childhood books was mentioned in this I cried !!

Actual Rating: 3.5/5 stars.
I liked it a bit more than the first book, especially Junu & Somin's relationship. I'm not sure if it was done on purpose, but there are a few parallels with the K-Drama Goblin - no hate whatsoever, just be aware that it's something that happens. The narrative felt a bit too dramatic and juvenile (again) for my liking. I feel like this is better suited for the younger half of YA. Other than that I enjoyed the bits of Korean culture and mythology sprinkled here and there, and it was a fun, light read overall.

I received an eARC of Vicious Spirits by Kat Cho from Penguin Teen in exchange for an honest review.

I actually received an ARC of this book before even reading Wicked Fox, so I was able to basically read them back to back and wow - I love this series. Vicious Spirits picks up right where Wicked Fox left off, but while we get some of Miyoung and Jihoon's story, this book is focused on Junu and Somin.

I loved Wicked Fox but I think I love Vicious Spirits even more. For one, we get more of Junu's background and his story and we get to see more of Somin. While I love Miyoung and Jihoon, it was nice to focus on the other characters stories. I actually like this book more than Wicked Fox and thought that this story was so interesting and just really good. The legends we learn about and are faced with are so cool, plus - ghosts! Which is always fun.

This was such a well thought out book and I'm so glad I read it almost immediately after Wicked Fox. It helped me understand more of the stories and legends, new and old. I could honestly spend the my entire day raving about this book it was that good. I know I've already talked some of my friends ears off with how much I like it.

Learning more about Somin was awesome. I love her story and her friendship with Miyoung and Jihoon, even though we get off to a rocky start in Wicked Fox. In Wicked Fox, she comes across as the over protective friend, ready to bash people's heads together, which doesn't bode well for Miyoung. In Vicious Spirits, we see why she's like that and get to see things more from her perspective. She's caring, funny, and puts on a tough appearance to protect herself and I think that's why I like this book more. I appreciated getting a more fleshed out version of Somin, it helped me understand her character in Wicked Fox even better, and helped me connect with her better in this book.

And then we have Junu's story. I loved, loved, loved his story and the legends behind it. Also, his interactions with Somin and Miyoung are hilarious. He's that snarky, sarcastic character who puts on a front of "I don't care", but he cares - a lot! The more time I spent with him, the more I liked him, and my gosh - the ending!

I really, really hope we get another book in this world. I like where the series ended off, but if I could just get a little bit more, I would be so grateful! I'm so ready to reread these and jump back in.

As you can tell, I really like this series, and this is going to be a // 5 stars from me!

When I found out Vicious Spirits would be a companion book with Wicked Fox and involve more of Junu and Somin, I was so freaking excited! In the first book, you could already sense their amazing chemistry with each other and I NEEDED their relationship in my life.

I was not disappointed about the banter and romance that happened between these two. I liked how they both had flaws and weaknesses and they slowly had to work through them enable to understand why they felt so much connection with each other. I’m sad this is the last book in the series but I’m so excited for Cho’s other books especially if they deal with the great stories of Korean folklore.
