Jenifer Ruff sure knows how to write characters you fall in love with!

I found this (Book 3 of the Agent Victoria Heslin series) better than book 2 - right on par with book 1. This was...terrifying. I mean, a plane crash in general is horrifying, but then when you add the whole element of no one knowing where the plane actually was when it went down it intensifies the fear. This book had pretty pronounced story lines that merged perfectly to fill in the gaps and give the reader the full picture. One line was the plane itself, and the fight of the survivors to stay alive, and the second storyline was that of the FBI as they investigate what happened to Flight 745. There were some anxiety laden moments to say the least.

In books 1 and 2 we follow Victoria's career, and her cases, this book was more just about her as a person. Aside from her being a part of the FBI, and them trying extra hard to find one of their own that was missing, this wasn't as focused on her as an agent. More of a humanizing type of read, which sets us up well for what could (hopefully) be a long series!
