The merits  the arguments presented on Capitol Hill mattered little—President Bush had already made the decision to go to war.

Great breadth of history covered, not a lot of depth but that’s totally reasonable given all that it’s covering. A fantastic roadmap and bird’s eye view of issues that have been plaguing the Middle East over the last century or so. A book I’d absolutely recommend to anyone looking to get into the topic.

Only reason it’s not five stars is that it is a genuinely difficult read, not in its writing but in that it’s a non fiction piece that goes on about different political machinations for quite some time. Not my cup of tea (and I got stuck in it for some parts), but it comes with the territory of the topic.

Would wholeheartedly recommend to anyone looking to explore the title.
