The Molecular Tactics of a Crystal

This work presents concise information on the arrangement of the molecules in the constitution of a crystal. Written straightforwardly by William Thomson, 1st Baron Kelvin, this work describes the molecular tactics of crystals using several illustrations. He mentions to the readers that he has no aim to explain crystals' physical properties or their dynamics. Thompson begins with a unique example to introduce the subject to the readers and moves forward step by step. Thompson was a renowned British mathematician, mathematical physicist, and engineer. He contributed to the mathematical examination of electricity and the formulation of thermodynamics' first and second laws. The unit "Kelvin" is used to state absolute temperatures in his honor. This work proved to be a major contribution to the field of crystallography.
