For the most part I enjoyed the story. However, I feel like the books are all getting too similar in story and plot.

My biggest issue is the whole baby rabies epidemic that runs rampant. Stop knocking up all the girls. No kids is better at their age.

           Well, it happened. I found love in the Rosemary Beach world again. After the Grant/Harlow books I had almost given up this series but Bethy and Tripp made me thank that bit of inspiration that I had when I decided that I had to finish the story.

The feeling I had with the Blaire and Rush's story and also with Woods and Della was fully back and the amazement as well. Bethy had been suffering for a while since Jace died. There was something that happened to her that had made her go back to her pre-Jace days. Did I ever thought it was Tripp? Hell, no.

It is good to see that he takes it slowly, he doesn't jump right into until the moment he knew that she was his. It was good, it freaking good. Keep it up Abbi Glines

ME ENCANTOOOOOOOO... OMG al fin después de todo este tiempo esperándolo puedo decir que Abbi cada vez me sorprende más. Estas historias me encantan y Betty y Tripp no son la excepción. Desde la historia de Blaire con Rush necesitaba saber la historia de Betty y si con todo lo que ella había pasado, podría tener su final feliz y este libro me sorpendió con su historia y su trama que como siempre en los libros de Abbi, es perfecta.

Este libro como los demás tiene todo lo que me gusta de la escritura de Abbi, hay romance, peleas, drama y eso hace que los ameee. Con esta historia comprendí más a Betty y las cosas que hacía pero igual había veces que quería pegarle por ser tan mala con Tripp, pero al final comprendí que a través de todo el tiempo, ellos tuvieron una historia bien complicada y que ella tenía que tener un cierre de su historia con Jace para poder seguir adelante y perdonar a Tripp por las cosas del pasado que a ella la dejaron mal.

Además, leyendo sobre la historia de los demás personajes y siguiendo todavía sus vidas, es algo que igual amo de estos libros; con cada historia que pasa, disfrutas más de lo que las otras personas están viviendo y como sus vidas son felices después de todo por lo que tuvieron que pasar. Todas las parejas son perfectas y desde el primer libro, como dije antes, venía esperando la historia de Betty porque desde el principio se merecía un final feliz como todos los demás.

Gracias a Abbi por entregarnos estas historias geniales que siempre quedan grabadas en mi cabeza y cada vez me vuelvo loca esperando leer un nuevo libro de ella. Ahora sólo queda esperar la historia de Mase y la historia de Kiro y la mujer que tanto amo.

Definitivamente estos libros valen la pena leerlos de una y como yo, creo que más de una persona se obsesionara con las historias, en especial con los personajes masculinos que Abbi como siempre los hace perfectos <3

I feel like I've been waiting for this book forever. It was worth the wait. It was emotional and a beautiful second chance story. It was a great, slow build to the boiling point for these characters as Bethy tried to resist Tripp because of their history and her guilt over Jace. There was a ton of sexual tension, a whole bunch of feels and smoking hot sexy time. (Spoiler alert: Tripp's a dirty talker. And I liked it.)
While Bethy wasn't always an easy character to like in the earlier books, now that I've spent a book inside her head, I get it. I understand why she is how she is. I definitely connected with her during You Were Mine. The poor girl had been through so much and was carrying far too much guilt over the past. She definitely hadn't had an easy life. Tripp has been an enigma to me since he was first introduced into the series. I didn't know what to think about him at first, but now I'm a fan. I loved how he relentlessly pursued Bethy (without crossing into creepy territory). It was obvious he cared about her and wanted her to be happy and live again. Hopefully, with him.

It probably goes without saying, but I loved this couple. Once I learned everything about their history, there isn't a doubt in my mind that things are how they were meant to be. It does still break my heart that Jace had to die for them to find their way back to each other though. It can't have been an easy story for Abbi to write either. It was difficult to read sometimes because of Bethy's pain and guilt and because Jace was SUCH a likable guy and it devastated me when he died earlier in the series. But at the same time, it was impossible not to stay hopeful and wish for Bethy to find her happily ever after with the first guy she ever loved. They were just so right together. There's no way you can read Bethy and Tripp's history and not root for this couple. 

Abbi's done it again! I love this series and her characters and storytelling. I always find myself completely wrapped up in the story, rushing to the end so I can find out what happens, but then sad when it's all over and I have to let them go. You Were Mine was no exception. But, I do know Abbi's books well enough to know that this isn't the last we'll see of them. I can't wait for the next Rosemary Beach book and an update on their lives now. So many warm fuzzy feels!

THE STORY:
Becca: The Rosemary Beach series is by far my favorite Abbi Glines series! This setting and these characters have stolen my heart and with each book I read I fall even harder! Tripp and Bethy’s story was no exception to that rule! Since I am a huge fan of this series and have read every book in it I loved it even more because I got to see ALL of my favorite characters as their lives have changed and relationships have grown. I love companion novels and Abbi Glines is really at pro at them. Although these can be read out of sequence, beware there all spoilers for the other books before this one. Tripp and Bethy’s story is a stand alone and flashes to the relationship they had and then back into the current one. I was so excited for this one and it did not disappoint!

“You will always remind me of what I lost. Twice. I only lose with you, Tripp. You leave destruction in your wake. I can’t handle losing anymore.”

Lisa: I know it’s hard to believe, but this was my very FIRST Abbi Glines book!! I was informed that they could be read in any order, since they’re all companion novels, so I jumped at the chance to review this one after being contacted. As Becca stated, there are spoilers for some of the other books… but since I haven’t read those and don’t know the characters, they didn’t really effect me too much since I didn’t know what was considered a “spoiler” for a previous book. And trust me, the likelihood of my remembering it once I get to that book is very unlikely. I have the worst memory!

That all being said, I have to say I’m now officially an Abbi fan. I can see now whey she’s been compared to Colleen Hoover and K.A. Tucker (two of my favorite authors!!), and I will definitely be checking out more of her books. Especially in this series. I really enjoyed the atmosphere and story surrounding these characters. I loved how Abbi gave a brief background of each character that was mentioned so that people like myself, who are new to this series, were never left in the dark. The story didn’t simply surround Tripp and Bethy alone. The entire cast all took part in bringing this story together, making it what it was. These are definitely a bunch of characters that I’m eager to know more about!

“He’d told me daisies reminded him of me. They weren’t overdone and expected, like roses. They were beautiful and free. They lightened up a room, and although they appeared innocent, there was a wildness about them.” 

THE CHARACTERS:
Lisa: Tripp and Bethy are my favorite type of characters. They have an undeniable connection, yet because of things from their past and situations they’ve been through together, they fight their attraction to the bitter end. I love when characters have a past, one that, as the reader, you’re just dying to figure out. The back story is what brings this entire story around, and it’s beautiful. I loved the raw emotion these two felt, the struggles they each faced, and how in the span of eight years they were each able to grow so much as a person, bettering themselves. The flashbacks between “now” and “eight years ago” gave us the complete story of how these two met, what happened in their relationship, and why they are where they are at the current time.

“With Jace, I didn’t worry about how I’d continue breathing if he walked out of my life. With you, I want it all. If I get a taste of what it could be, I won’t ever want to let it go. I fell in love with you when I was sixteen, and that’s never changed. But trusting you with my heart again is different. With you, I need to know it’s forever.”

Becca: I couldn’t agree more with Lisa on every point. Although I have the advantage of knowing and loving these characters already :) I fell in love with Tripp during both Perfection books, the way he looked after Della was just so sweet. Bethy has been a favorite of mine since Blair and Rush’s story and I have always though to myself “what’s her story?” Going into You Were Mine I was so eager to learn more about them and Abbi Glines definitely provided that with the flashbacks, they were heart breaking and beautiful. I loved learning who they were and loving who they had become. This entire cast of characters is absolutely addicting and I find myself wanting more and more and wondering if there will be another book and who this one will be about?! I just can’t get enough of the Rosemary Beach crew! I am so glad that Lisa enjoyed her first Abbi experience and encourage her and anyone else who hasn’t read this series to try it! Trust me you will love these characters!

OVERALL:
Becca: I was so happy to finally read Bethy’s story, after all that she had been through I just wanted her to have her own HEA. I was unsure how I would feel about Tripp and Bethy and which direction Abbi would take them, but their story was perfect for me. Seeing the other characters in this story was so wonderful too. I think that is the best thing about companion novels, that you can watch your favorite characters lives unfold while you read about new ones. Another awesome story from Abbi Glines and the Rosemary Beach Series!!

Lisa: I’ll definitely be continuing on with the other books in this series. Honestly, when I first started reading You Were Mine and realized there were spoilers for the other books, I panicked a little. I didn’t want to ruin the series for myself. Thankfully Becca talked me down a bit, reinforcing the fact that it probably wouldn’t ruin the other books for me, as I most likely wouldn’t remember the details, and I may not even realize it was a spoiler and skim over it with no acknowledgement whatsoever. So, I continued on. Honestly, I do wish I had read this series in order to begin with. But as I state all the time, I’m NOT a big series person, and the size of this series scared me. That being said, now that I’ve read and enjoyed this book so much, I do plan to go back and read the other books to get to know these other characters more. This is definitely one of those series where the characters, all of them, make each story what it is. I’ve never read a series with companion books before where the stories intertwine so strongly. It’s really impressive!

I would definitely recommend this series, or at the very least this book, to other romance fans. You’ve got a new fan, Abbi! <3
