honestly, this is a re-read. the first time around i was enamored with it, but i was also fresh out of a relationship & the words resonated so deeply. reading it again it was nice, easy to read. there were some good lines in there, but it was a bit repetitive. a little bit basic but sometimes these things are & that's okay. i still adore nikita gill's writing very much, it never fails to hit close to home.

My very first read this year. I enjoyed this poetry collection. I thought the astronomical theme was brilliant. My only problem was some words and messages were used repetitively and it loses the poem's meaning. Overall, Nikita Gill's writing is beautiful and her poems are heartfelt and inspiring. Here are some of my favorites:

Your heart is not a hotel
with rooms to rent out

THE SOUND OF HEARTBREAK

It is eerily terrifying that there is no sound when a heart breaks. Car accidents end with a bang, falling ends with a thud, even writing makes the scratching sound of pencil against paper. But the sound of a heart breaking is completely silent. Almost as though no one, not even the universe itself could create a sound for such devastation. Almost as though silence is the only way the universe could pay its respect to the sound of a heart falling apart.

Not that poetry has to be sophisticated, but all the poems were cheesy. Honestly, I skipped some of them because they were repetitive.

A modern poetry collection that's divided into eight sections; each addressing a different theme. Frankly speaking, i did find it a bit repetitive! However, I truly enjoyed it. It's quite soothing

Now to be more honest, i've got to mention that the rating is purely for "The Cosmos" section, because oh maan, it got me soooo goooood <3

Some really beautiful pieces in here, a lot of it resonated with me right now. The first and last chapters were my favourites. The rest were nice, but I did find it to be pretty repetitive. There were several poems that were very similar to one that I had just read a few pages before, and the same metaphors used over and over again. I think this would be better if I’d read maybe one or two poems a day instead of mostly in one sitting, that way the repetitiveness wouldn’t have been so obvious and I could have just enjoyed the beauty of each poem individually without comparing them to the ones I’d just read

A breath taking collection that left me speechless and dying for more. I love the way Gill writes in such a magical and whimsical way. She has a way with words I cannot describe but reading her work always leaves me wanting more. dont miss out on this collection.

A beautiful collection of free form poems. Very poignant and a good range of emotions were explored. I appreciated that some poems had several parts to them so that we stepped through the thought process with Gill. I would read more of her work.
