What a beautiful story - from the blurb and the cover, I was expecting the story to be very light-hearted, typical chick-lit. I was, however, pleasantly surprised as the story is beautiful, and it has so much substance and emotion binding the characters and their lives together.

Of the 3 characters, as I suspect it would be for most readers, I really identified with Maddy. There are so many circumstances where you can relate to Maddy's experiences and feelings. Fletcher has created such a beautiful image of a strong, childhood friendship. I love that although the story is based around the love triangle between Ben, Rob and Maddy, it also explores their friendship. The love and compassion they all have for one another is incredibly strong and endearing.

I love that we follow the characters as they grow up, through their early school years and into their teens and that we are taken through all their experiences through the points of view of all 3 characters. It takes a certain talent to give the reader the POV of all characters involved without spoiling the story and stripping it of the emotion and sensitivity. But Fletcher does this beautifully.

Was a lovely book to read. Perfect for a cozy easy read. I love how it swapped between Ben and Mary and had bits of Robert in too. I feel like some bits could have been elaborated and some cut down but over all very nice read
