Was it death he was now waiting for? Or a wild ecstasy of the senses? The two seemed to overlap, almost as if the object of this bodily desire was death itself. But, however that might be, it was certain that never before had the lieutenant tasted such total freedom.

My dear edgelord ends to be way more of a person than a hero. I liked the stories way more then I expected to. Remembered what I felt when I got obsessed in highschool so possibly fav Japanese voice I've read so far? Refreshing not finding the twee/magical realism package that feels almost like prejudice by now.

Refreshing not finding the twee/magical realism package that feels almost like prejudice by now.

A collection of translated short-stories. Very mixed, always with a strange feeling left behind. Especially one story with sickening cruel description, but very impressive. Put into English words by different translators, thus some stories are a smoother read than others.
