Addressed are the relationships to land had by Australian women and by Australian male environmentalists; Japanese students, academics, and environmentalists; and landscape in the writings of Yasunari Kawabata, Sam Watson, Rodney Hall, and Janette Turner Hospital. While this is an academic book dealing with literary theory, Davies writes for the non-initiate, making the volume suitable for even advanced high schoolers.
