The world of psychopathology has always fascinated and never more so than when the subject of motion pictures. From the days when film producers discovered that the works of Freud and Krafft-Ebing were grist for the cameras, the psychopath has been a movie staple. Prior to 1920 the French film pioneer, George Melies, had pictured the disorders of the human mind in Baron Munchausen's Dream, abd John Barrymore's portrayal of Dr Jekyll and the villainous Mr Hyde was a cornerstone for actors portraying mad doctors and crazed killers.
