Jorg Dierken pursues this hybridity on the basis of two contrary motives of the religious: on the one side is the tendency to bring in all divided things into a context of extensive wholeness and, on the other side, the effort to depict a counter-factual alternate world. Jorg Dierken geht dieser Hybriditat anhand zweier gegenlaufiger Grundmotive des Religiosen nach: Einerseits der Tendenz, alles Vereinzelte in einen Zusammenhang umfassender Ganzheit zu bringen, andererseits dem Bestreben, eine kontrafaktische Gegen-Welt darzustellen.
