Emerging East Asian economies have seen their share of world exports more than triple during the past 25 years, a trend driven by intraregional trade. Increasingly, the development agenda in the region, focusing on growth, jobs and social stability, has become interconnected with trade policy aspects, including market access and competitiveness.
