Literary fiction is weird, yo. The Tiny Wife is about a bank robbery unlike any bank robbery you have ever heard about. A strange man in a purple suit saunters into a bank with a gun and makes people give him the most sentimental object that they have on them. In doing this he talks part of their soul, of course, and the people must figure out how to get it back. 

The rest of the book follows one particular victim as she navigates her disintegrating relationship with her husband all while she starts shrinking. There are interludes to show what happened to the other people, and everyone is affected in a strange, often quite harmful manner. Not everyone survives. Readers are kept wondering what will happen to the wife right until the very last line. It's a great example of the power of magic realism, and an unnerving, emotional read. Strange, but quite an engaging novella with cute illustrations as well.
