Una interpretación de las artes visuales en el Paraguay
Massive work considered an important contribution to the aesthetical interpretation of the artistic process in Paraguay. The study, first published 20 years ago focuses on the fundamental characteristics of visual art developed in the country since Pre-Hispanic times, and where the term "art" is used in a comprehensive way analyzing the artistic developments in their historical context and highlighting the cultural conflict the imposition and assimilation of new artistic forms represented. The study did not include architecture as the author considered it a complex analytical study by its own. The book is divided in two main sections: the first reviews the Indian visual arts, the art from the colonial period and 19th century (mestizo art, criollo art, missionary art, etc.). A second part is dedicated to the 20th century.
